FLOWERS, SPICES, SAND AND STONES IN YOR PAINTINGS?

DO YOU USE FLOWERS, SPICES, SAND AND STONES IN YOR PAINTINGS??!! 😱😂

The other day I had a sweet couple at my Art Studio for several hours to buy art for their new house, and they ended up buying two paintings, this was one of these, a rather large painting.

The couple brought with them their two young children, a boy and a girl, both were overwhelmed by my Art Studio! They had probably not met an artist before, at least not experienced an art studio!

All the paint on the floor, the weird smell of oil paint and turpentine, that I actually used spices, flowers, stones and sand in my paintings, and that they were allowed to feel the texture of the paintings with their small hands! And they asked a million questions, in fact very good and relevant questions! What wonderful kids! I love having children visiting my Art Studio, they see art and their surroundings in a completely different and more genuine way than we adults do. And they say what they feel and think!!

Fun painting assignment - Georg H. Monrad-Krohn Art Studi

Most of the time, I paint abstract paintings, but in between I take on assignments to paint portraits, a family, dogs or a given landscape. This oil painting should be a surprise gift and I got a photo to paint after - and otherwise completely free hands. The client came to my studio and we had a long and good chat about what he wanted with the painting. It became a very fun mission! Here is the result: In Norwegian: Stort sett maler jeg abstrakte malerier, men inn i mellom tar jeg på meg oppdrag om å male portretter, en familie, hunder eller et gitt landskap. Dette maleriet skulle være en overraskelsesgave og jeg fikk et foto å male etter – og ellers fullstendig frie hender. Oppdragsgiver kom til mitt atelier og vi hadde en lang og god prat om hva vedkommende ønsket med maleriet. Det ble et særdeles morsomt oppdrag!
